Liftoff Early Access
As gamers we are big fans of an open approach to game development. To create the best game possible we want to let the gaming community participate in the decision-making. In this way, we aim to collect all the information we need to improve and expand the current version of Liftoff. We plan to actively engage with the players and we are open to feedback and suggestions. To make good on that promise, the Early Access version will include an easy-to-use feedback tool, to share your feedback “on the fly”. ?
However, be warned: If you are someone who enjoys a solid polished product we don’t recommend the Early Access version of the game. Early Access is only for those who are willing to invest in a project early on and are prepared to deal with all the little teething problems that are inherent in game production. While getting involved as early as possible might be exciting, we would recommend most players to wait for the full experience. Everything released under the Early Access program is to be considered work in progress and may not represent the final product.
Who better to describe what Early Access is than the founders of Steam and the Early Access program Valve Studios:
Get immediate access to games that are being developed with the community’s involvement. These are games that evolve as you play them, as you give feedback, and as the developers update and add content.
We like to think of games and game development as services that grow and evolve with the involvement of customers and the community. There have been a number of prominent titles that have embraced this model of development recently and found a lot of value in the process. We like to support and encourage developers who want to ship early, involve customers, and build lasting relationships that help everyone make better games.
This is the way games should be made.

The Early Access program allows us to collect all the information we need to improve and expand the current version of Liftoff.
If you are someone who enjoys a solid polished product we won’t recommend the Early Access version of the game. Early Access is only for those willing to invest in the project early on and are willing to coop with everything involved in early game production. While getting involved as early as possible might be exciting for some, to most players we would recommend to wait for the full experience.
If everything goes as planned we hope to release the final version in 2016.
The player is central in our plans. We feel we have a solid basis with our Early Access version. Feedback from the community will help us decide what the future of Liftoff will look like!
Currently, we are mainly focussing on some key aspects of the simulation before we add more complex layers to the game. Future updates will consist of both new features and content: more drone parts, environments, race functionality, track building, extra games modes and a compelling multiplayer mode.
We consider the current version of Liftoff as a solid base for an exciting platform to come.
The current version is playable and focusses on basic functionality and the realistisch flight simulation, a key component to test before adding extra layers to the experience.
Depending on the feedback we get from the gaming community we might decide to expand the scope of the game.
Everyone brave enough to try out an unfinished product, and share feedback to the developers deserves a discount in our opinion. The Early Access version is currently sold for €19,99 the full release will likely be €29,99
We feel the player has a central role in helping us create Liftoff. Not only do we hope to improve the current version of the game, but we are also interested in suggestions on how to improve and expand the game with more content and features.
The current version of the game includes a simple-to-use feedback tool, so involvement is easy and quick.
